Showcasing the original lineup of Practically People (2021-2024); this band consists of Jane Harris, Josh Mersky, and Wills Brinton alongside original frontman, Dmitri Bell.
The band first formed and turned heads in 2021, with the release of their debut EP Honeybutter, recorded in Nashville, TN. Following this release, the four friends would go on to play over 125 shows during their tenure together. There, on stage, is where they would find their home. With Bell’s energetic presence and the youthful energy of their Alternative/Indie sound, it was no surprise to see them garner support. Opening for countless touring acts and hosting many shows of their own, the band would amass a truly connected fan base here in AZ. This could be seen in full effect when they celebrated the release of their first full length record, Origins, with a sold out hometown show at Crescent Ballroom in April of 2024.
While it would be the last music put out under this lineup, the album would cement their place in the minds of fans, as they would continue to play these songs until their final performance together at 8123 Fest in January of 2025. Following the departure of Bell, “Practically People” would phase out of the current discography, planning to let it rest in a spot where all members could still partake. Here, we can still hear this music, but under the original proposed name for the band, “Practically Pirates."
Friends from El Paso, now spread between California and Texas making music together, playing guitar, giving each other advice we don't follow.
