Artists

Cameron Jeong

Growing up on a small town bordering Mexico, Cameron was inspired by the similarities and differences in music she experienced being bicultural and bilingual. Although her journey began as a dancer, learning various rhythms and styles to over ten different genres sparked the musicianship in her soul.  She began with piano lessons and vocal lessons at a young age leading her to become the main vocalist for the Ellington Band in the Tucson Jazz Institute. After graduating from Arizona State University with a degree in Music, she continues her education and research on incorporating healing frequencies and vibrations to her original work in hopes to raise awareness of its benefits in mainstream music. Being a Hispanic Asian-American woman, she is going against the current of musical marketing norms and drawing from my roots to create a space where genre-fluid music can live and thrive whilst also creating a community of artist and listeners who feel they are unfit for a single labeled box.

Hyperbella

Hyperbella is an intergalactic neo-soul/experimental pop duo from Phoenix, AZ. Composed of artists Cassidy Hilgers and Carly Bates, Hyperbella draws influence from Hiatus Kaiyote, Little Dragon, Lianne La Havas, and Radiohead, fusing complex harmonies with polyrhythmic textures and alternative jazz improvisation. They seek to capture relatable images and experiences within their lyrics and blend equal parts ethereal sounds with intense build-ups and breakdowns.

Uptown Sundown

Uptown Sundown is a dynamic contemporary jazz ensemble renowned for their innovative sound and electrifying performances. Formed in 2022, the band blends jazz elements with influences from R&B, lo-fi, and pop, creating a unique fusion of rhythmic complexity and melodic richness. Featuring the soulful saxophone stylings of Matt Horne, the groove-driven bass of Rowley, the inventive keyboard work of Mario Garcia, the dynamic drumming of Nick Martinez, and the expressive guitar riffs of Jesse Espinoza, the band crafts a sound that is both fresh and engaging. Whether on stage or in the studio, Uptown Sundown continues to push the boundaries of jazz, captivating audiences and solidifying their reputation as a fresh voice in the Phoenix music scene.
