Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jawny BadLuck comes from a long line of creators and musicians. Both of his parents did theater and aspired for the big stage on Broadway. Extended family members were musicians, especially as drummers and percussionists, and it was this combination of influences that eventually captivated Jawny and led to him becoming a drummer in several bands then eventually transitioned into writing songs and recording his first raps in highschool. In 2020 he released his collaboration with fellow New Mexico artist, Jandro on ‘Southwest Fiesta.’ A love letter to New Mexico, the video for ‘Southwest Fiesta’ garnered over 1.2 million views on YouTube in its first week. The single also earned a Billboard #17 position in October of 2021.
